Size-controlled synthesis of gold nanoparticles from bulk gold substrates by sonoelectrochemical methods

Article Abstract:

Size-controlled gold nanoparticles, ranging from 2 to 15 nm in diameter, were prepared from gold substrates in 0.1 N HCl aqueous solutions without the addition of any stabilizers by sonoelectrochemical methods. It was observed that the ratio of gold nanoparticles to gold containing nanocomplexes in solutions could be controlled by adjusting the sonoelectrochemical reduction time.

Semiconductor-metal nanocomposites. Photoinduced fusion and photocatalysis of gold-capped TiO2(TiO2/Gold)

Article Abstract:

Synthesis of metal/semiconductor nanocomposites is observed by the reduction of [AuCl(sub 4 (super -) on the surface of performed TiO2 nanoparticles. The role of the gold layer in promoting the phtocatalytic charge transfer is probed by using thiocyanate oxidation at the semiconductor interface.

Thermal stability of Au nanoparticles in O2 and air on fully oxidized TiO2(110) substrates at elevated pressures. An AFM/XPS study of Au/TiO2 model systems

Article Abstract:

The thermal stability of gold nanoparticles on fully stoichiometric TiO2(110) rutile substrates in an O2 atmosphere and in air at up to ambient pressure, and for comparison under ultrahigh-vacuum conditions is investigated by atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
