Study if vibrational spectra of interlayer water in sodium beidellite by molecular dynamics simulations

Article Abstract:

Vibrational spectra of water were investigated using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations based on free flexible force field model to elucidate the molecular structure and water-clay interaction of interlayer water in sodium type smectite (hydrated layered alminosilicate). Vibrational spectra of water were obtained by Fourier transformation of the velocity autocorrection function of the hydrogen atom.

Sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopic study of ployimide surfaces made by spin coating and ionized cluster beam deposition

Article Abstract:

Surface-specific sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy is used to study the surfaces of polyimide thin films made by spin-coating and ionized cluster beam deposition methods. The surface vibrational spectra in the imide CO region are different between these samples and the analysis reveal that the polymer main chains lie mainly along the surface for spin-coated samples.

Surfaces of alcohol-water mixtures studied by sum-frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Sum-frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy was used to investigate the surface molecular structure of binary mixtures of water and alcohol at the air/liquid surface. It was shown that the sum-frequency signal from the alcohol molecules in the CH-stretch vibration region is always larger for mixtures than that from pure alcohol.
