Surface-enhanced fluorescence and reverse saturable absorption on silver nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Langmuir isotherm is applied to analyze the laser-induced fluorescence from solutions containing silver nanoparticles and tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II) chloride. Fluorescence enhancement factors based on the simple adsorption model are found to be 47-90, depending on the nanoparticle concentration.

X-ray absorption spectroscopy study of the in-solution structure of Ni2+, Co2+, and Ag+ solvates in acetonitrile including multiple scattering contributions

Article Abstract:

An X-ray absorption spectroscopy study of the in-solution structures of the acetonitrile solvates of Ni2+, Co2+ and Ag+ cations has been performed. The Ag+ acetonitrile solvate is formed by four solvent molecules at 2.27 A in a tetrahedral environment with a linear arrangement.

The electronic structures of Co and Ni tetraazaannulenes

Article Abstract:

The electronic structure of two metal-centered tetramethyldibenzo-tetraazaannulene (TMTAA) macrocyclic complex molecules is compared. The location of the Fermi level has indicated that both absorbed metal-centered TMTAAs are n-type insulators on Au(111) substrates.
