Surface modification of halogenated polymers.7. Local reduction of poly (tetrafluoroethylene) and poly (chlorotrifluoroethylene) by a scanning electrochemical microscope in the feedback mode

Article Abstract:

The mechanism of charge transfer to fluoropolymers by using the approach curves obtained in the feedback mode of the scanning electrochemical microscope is investigated. The conclusion states that fluoropolymers reduction parallels the trends observed in organic electrochemistry in solution within the haloalkane series.

Reduction of polyfluorinated compounds

Article Abstract:

Reduction of perfluoroalkylphenylcyanides and perfluorodecalin was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and interpreted by intramolecular dissociative electron-transfer models. The first electron transfer and the following chemical reaction corresponding to F(super -) expulsion govern reduction.

Cation effects in the reduction of stilbenes in liquid ammonia

Article Abstract:

The reductive isomerization of cis-stilbene at -38 degree C in various cations was investigated in the presence of various cations. The observation was interpreted by a simple model involving rough approximations and associations within dianionic species only.
