Synthesis and characterization of RuS(sub 2) nanostructures

Article Abstract:

Small naked ruthenium sulfide nanoparticles (NP(sub s)) with narrow size distribution are synthesized in DMSO colloidal dispersions, under mild reaction conditions and using commercial RuCl(sub 3) as precursor. It is found that there is a strong interaction of Bz(sub 2)S and toluene with the naked RuS(sub 2) NPs and self-organized thin films of capped N(et)(sub 3)-and RuS(sub 2)-[MoS(sub 4)](super 2) is obtained.

Synthesis of platinum nanowires in organic-inorganic mesoporous silica templates by photoreduction: formation mechanism and isolation

Article Abstract:

Formation mechanism of Pt nanowires in HMM-1 by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS), and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) is discussed. From the mechanistic study, it is revealed that the migration of Pt species in water/methanol phase is the key to successful growth of Pt wires.

The size-dependent structural phase behaviors of supported bumettalic (Pt-Ru) nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Preparation, structural characterization and phase behavior of supported metallic and bimetallic nanoparticles is described. The strong presence of persistent metastable structures makes the properties of bimetallic nanoclusters different.
