Article Abstract:

Fabrication of ZnO nanostructures, including single-crystal nanowires, nanoneedles, nanoflowers, and tubular whiskers was done at a modestly low temperature of 550 degree Celsius. The fabrication was done via the oxidation of metallic Zn powder without a metal catalyst.

Self-assembly of nanoparticles in three-dimensions: Formation of stalagmites

Article Abstract:

A coarse-grained lattice gas model to describe drying-mediated self-assembly of nanoparticles in three dimensions is developed. The findings indicate that the formation of the nanostalagmites is strongly coupled to the liquid-vapor phase-transition.

Chains of artificial atoms in a magnetic field

Article Abstract:

The energy structure of the one-dimensional chains of spherical nanocrystals is analyzed. The study reveals that the energy structure of the investigated chains, built of spherical nanocrystals, contains sets of minibands of different widths.
