Synthesis, structure, texture, and CO sensing behavior of nanocrystalline tin oxide doped with Scandia

Article Abstract:

A two-step hydrothermal process was used to synthesize weakly agglomerated nanocrystalline Scandia doped tin oxide powders with high surface and uniform size in the presence of urea, followed by the calcinations between 500 and 1200 degree Celsius. The correlation between the structure/texture and the sensitivity to CO for the as-calcined (SnO2)(sub 1 -x)[SC(sub 2)O(sub 3)](sub x) nanocrystallites is established and explained on the basis of the structural and textural analysis.

Structure of the trimer silver cluster Ag3(super 2+)

Article Abstract:

A simple hypothetical model of the trimer silver cluster Ag3(super 2+) is presented making use of divalent silver. The model explains experimental observations such as the relative stability of trimer clusters and also the formation of silver clusters of a specific number of atoms, that is, the 'magic' clusters.

Structure and dynamic properties of solid L-tyrosine-ethylester as seen by (super 13)C MAS NMR

Article Abstract:

(super 13)C magic angle-spinning (MAS) NMR experiments on solid L-tyrosine-ethylester in (super 13)C in low natural abundance and in fully (super 13)C enriched form are reported. The phenyl rings are found to undergo pi flips with rather low activation energy.
