Thermal decomposition of carbon precursors in decorated AFI zeolite crystals

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to explore the decomposition process of tripropylammonium ion pairs incorporated inside the channels of the AlP[O.sub.4]-5 and SAPO-5 crystals prepared in various media. The 0.4-nm single walled carbon nanotube filling density was seen to be higher than that resulting from the carbon precursor of tripropylammonium fluoride and hydroxide, because of the strong adsorption force of the channel walls to pyrolysate, as evidenced by the clear and strong radial breathing modes in Raman spectra.

Carbon nanotube formation and growth via particle-particle interaction

Article Abstract:

Carbon nanotube are observed to form under a wide range of temperatures, pressures, reactive agents, and catalyst metals. The formation of nanotubes between particles as described by the interacting particle model indicates that a single mechanism cannot completely describe nanotube synthesis, more likely, multiple synthesis, more likely, multiple pathways exist with varying rates that depend on specific process conditions.

Nanostructured Pt functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotube based hydrogen sensor

Article Abstract:

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were synthesized by catalytic chemical vapor deposition of acetylene using a fixed-bed catalytic reactor over hydrides of Mm0.2Tb0.8Co2 obtained through hydrogen decrepitation technique. These nanostructured Pt functionalized MWNTs are good hydrogen sensors with high sensitivity and reversibility at room temperature.
