Thermodynamics and dynamics for a model potential energy landscape

Article Abstract:

Thermodynamic properties of the normal and supercooled liquid states are calculated with the energy distribution of the inherent structures (IS), and approximations for the harmonic and anharmonic vibrational free energy. It is found that IS dynamics was approximately a random walk below T(sub C) and were able to quantitatively evaluate D with the Markov approximation.

Modelling viscosity temperature dependence of supercooled sucrose solutions-the random-walk approach

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to determine the relaxation behavior in the supercooled melt, using only viscosity data at temperatures above critical temperature based on the random walk (RW) approach. It was observed that the RW evaluated factors can be related with system features and are dependent on water content or sucrose concentration dependable regression results.

On the breakdown of the Stokes-Einstein Law in supercooled liquids

Article Abstract:

The wavevector-dependent shear viscosity n(k) that is evaluated for a range of temperatures in a supercooled binary Lennard-Jones liquid is described. It is found that the breakdown of the Stokes-Einstein law in the system is well described by keeping the simulated k-dependence.
