Two-dimensional crystal growth and stacking of bis(phthalocyaninato) rare earth sandwich complexes at the 1-phenyloctane/graphite interface

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to demonstrate the initial stages of two-dimensional crystal growth of the double-decker sandwich earth complex bis(phthalocyaninato) using scanning tunneling microscopy at the liquid/solid interface between 1-phanyloctane and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite. The high-resolution images suggest that the alignment of double-decker molecules into monolayers with the phthalocyanine rings parallel to the surface.

Liquid crystalline metal-free Phthalocyanines designed for charge and exciton transport

Article Abstract:

A joint theoretical and experimental study of the electronic and structural properties of liquid crystalline metal-free pthalocyanines bearing a strong potential for charge and exciton transport was performed. It was synthesized two metal-free phthalocyanines with different branched aliphatic chains on the gram scale to allow for a full characterization of their solid-state properties.

Electronic and chemical properties of tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) surfaces and ITO/ZnPc interfaces studied in-situ by photoelectron spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The chemical and electronic properties of tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) surfaces and its interface with zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) are examined using photoelectron spectroscopy partly excited by synchrotron radiation from the BESSY II storage ring. It is demonstrated that ITO surfaces can display large Fermi level shifts depending on substrate preparation.
