Ultrafast charge transfer at TiO2/SCN- (aq) interfaces investigated by femtosecond transient reflecting grating method

Article Abstract:

The photoinduced ultrafast relaxation dynamics at TiO2/SCN- (aq) interfaces were investigated by applying a femtosecond transient reflecting grating technique to solid/liquid interfaces. An ultrafast relaxation component of 110-690 fs was observed and can be attributed to the interaction between photoinduced nonequilibrium holes and adsorbed SCN- ions. This interaction paves the way for the ultrafast charge transfer.

Nonradiative relaxation in thiophene-S,S-dioxide derivatives: The role of the environment

Article Abstract:

The intramolecular radiative and nonradiative relaxation processes of three thiophene-S,S-dioxide derivatives with different molecular rigidity are investigated in different solutions and inert matrix. It is shown that the fluorescence quantum efficiency and the relaxation dynamics are strongly dependent on the environment viscosity, whereas they are almost independent of the environment polarity.

Morphological dependence of radiative and nonradiative relaxation energy balance in photoexcited aryl ether dendrimers as observed by fluorescent and thermal lens spectroscopies

Article Abstract:

Radiative and nonradiative relaxation processes after excitation by ultraviolet light are measured for o-, m-, and p-aryl ether dendrimers of fourth generation by using fluorescent and thermal lens spectroscopies. It is proposed that the nonlinear conjugated oscillator model of Fermi-Pasta-Ulam theory would be suitable for the intramolecular energy storage.
