Ultrafast electron dynamics and optical nonlinearities in metal nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The results of high-sensitivity femtosecond pump-probe experiments are used for discussing the femtosecond optical response of noble metal nanoparticles and its connection to the ultrafast electron dynamics. It is observed that the electron-electron energy exchanges are not affected by confinement for sizes larger than 10nm.

Dye-sensitized solid-state photovoltaic cells based on dye multilayer-semiconductor nanostructures

Article Abstract:

The construction of dye-sensitized solid-state photovoltaic cells with heterostructure configurations is discussed. It is concluded that, on de-excitation of D(sub 2)(super *) an electron is transferred to n-TiO2 via tunneling across p-CuSCN and concomitantly releasing a hole to p-CuSCN.

Chemical diffusion coefficient of electrons in nanostructured semiconductor electrodes and dye-sensiized solar cells

Article Abstract:

The kinetic and thermodynamic similarities and differences between interacting ions in the electron and lattice in nanostructured semiconductors are discussed. Many important consequences of distinction between single particle random walk and macroscopic diffusion are discussed.
