Ultrafast-pump probe study of excited-state charge-transfer dynamics in umecyanin from horseradish root

Article Abstract:

Femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy is used to investigate the excited-state dynamics of umecyanin from horseradish roots by exciting its ligand-to-metal charge-transfer and probing over a broad range in the visible region. Evidence is provided for a rapidly damped oscillation and the Fourier transform of the oscillatory component of the signal has presented additional bands in the low-frequency region, which are assigned to collective motions of the protein.

Water channel of horseradish peroxidase studied by the charge-transfer absorption band of ferric heme

Article Abstract:

The heme of horseradish peroxide is buried in the protein, but a channel from the protein surface connects the aqueous solution to the heme site. It is examined that how a spectroscopic marker at the catalytic center of the enzyme is affected by surface conditions.

Hofmeister effects in biology: Effect of choline addition on the salt-induced super activity of horseradish peroxide and its implication for salt resistance of plants

Article Abstract:

The effect of choline addition on the salt-induced super activity of horseradish peroxide (HRP) is investigated. HRP is presented as an efficient H2O scavenger, and choline is the precursor of glucine betaine, a strong osmoprotectant molecule.
