Understanding the synergistic catalytic effect between La2O3 and CaO for the CH4 lean De-NO(sub x) reaction: Kinetic and mechanistic studies

Article Abstract:

The intrinsic rate of NO reduction by CH4 in the presence of 5% O2 at 550 degree-Celsius can be significantly enhanced by doping of La2O3 crystallites with Ca(super 2+) ions, compared to the pure La2O3 and CaO solids. It is found that the 5 wt % La2O3-95 wt % CaO system has one of the highest intrinsic site reactivities reported at 550 degree-Celsius for the NO/CH4/O2 reaction among metal oxide surfaces.

Infrared and TPD studies of nitrates absorbed on Tb4O7, La2O3, BaO, and MgO/gamma-Al2O3

Article Abstract:

Research into NOx storage of metal oxides in an oxidizing environment and into desorption behaviour of adsorbed NOx on metal oxides is presented. The difference in stability between chelating and bridging bidentate nitrates on a range of metal oxides/gamma-Al2O3 may provide a large range of operating temperatures for NOx storage.

Thermodynamics of ion pairing in lead nitrate solutions as determined with 207Pb NMR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Research into temperature- and concentration-dependent 207Pb NMR shifts of Pb(NO3)2 solutions is presented. It was possible to establish equilibrium constants as a function of temperature, as well as the enthalpy and entropy of dissociation of the ion complex in aqueous solution.
