Using novel polysaccharide-silica hybrid material to construct an amperometric biosensor for hydrogen peroxide

Article Abstract:

A new type of hybrid gel matrix, which is prepared by the sol-gel process of tetrakis (2-hydroxyethyl) orthosilicates (THEOS), a completely water-soluble silica precursor, is developed and used for the construction of the amperometric hydrogen peroxide biosensor. The fabricated hydrogen peroxide biosensor has the characteristics of good analytical performance, reproducibility, and storage stability under the optimized experimental conditions.

Effect of dielectric roughness on performance of pentacene TFTs and restoration of performance with a polymeric smoothing layer

Article Abstract:

The morphology, structure, and transport properties of pentacene thin film transistors (TFTs) are reported showing the influence of the gate dielectric surface roughness. Upon roughening of the amorphous SiO2 gate dielectric prior to pentacene deposition, dramatic reductions in pentacene grain size and crystallinity were observed.

Redox chemistry of tantalum clusters on silica characterized by X-ray absorption spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

SiO2-supported clusters of tantalum were synthesized from adsorbed Ta(CH2Ph)5 by treatment in H2 at 523K. It was seen that SiO2-supported tantalum clusters were characterized by a Ta-Ta coordination number of approximately 2, consistent with the presence of tritantalum clusters, on average.
