Kinetics associated with the length change of micelles in SDS solutions

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the relaxation time of a fusion-fission processes in sodium dodecyl sulphate, which was measured by use of a T-jump with light scattering detection, are presented.

Viscoelastic properties of hydrocarbon/fluorocarbon mixed wormlike micelles at high ionic strength

Article Abstract:

The mixed micellization between the perfluorooctylbutane trimethylammonium bromide and the cetyltrimethlammonium bromide surfactants in the presence of KBr is investigated. Light scattering and T-jump experiments performed on the dilute regime as well as measurements by dynamic light scattering of the terminal viscoelastic relaxation time in the semidilute range suggest a continuous micellar growth as R increases.

Closed-looped micelles in surfactant tetramer solutions

Article Abstract:

Research shows that oligomers and surfactant dimers provide new possibilities in establishing new morphologies in self-assemblies. A dominant closed loop population is formed in wormlike micellar systems with a new cationic surfactant tetramer.
