ZnO-latex hybrids obtained by polymer-controlled crystallization: A spectroscopic investigation

Article Abstract:

The precipitation of zinc oxide from an aqueous solution in the presence of poly latex nanoparticles is used for the synthesis of micro- and submicrosized ZnO-polymer hybrid materials. The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study of the polymers provides a lot of information about the crystal defects and species with unpaired electrons, though it has different physical origin as compared to the green-yellow emission.

Colloidal synthesis of organic-capped ZnO nanocrystals via a sequential reduction-oxidation reaction

Article Abstract:

A nonhydrolytic route to quantum-sized ZnO naocrystals in homogeneous organic solutions is presented. The results suggest that the controlled growth ZnO in the nanosized regime depended both on the oleic acid (OLEA)-assisted generation of intermediate metallic nanoparticles and on the adjustment of their oxidation conditions by using a mild oxidant, trimethylamine-N-oxide, rather than molecular oxygen.

A study of quantum confinement properties of photogenearted charges in ZnO nanoparticles by surface photovoltage spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The surface photo-voltage (SPV) of ZnO nanoparticles was studied using the surface photo-voltage spectroscopy (SPS) and the bands were identified. The results indicate that the SPV of ZnO nanoparticles are significantly different for their different sizes as a consequence of the quantum confinement effect.
