Cascade radical cyclizations via biradicals generated from enediynes, enyne-allenes, and enyne-ketenes

Article Abstract:

Cascade radical cyclizations are transformations that could provide a new pathway for the construction of complex synthetic molecules. These reactions, when performed under thermal conditions, provide easy entries to a variety of carbon biradicals. The Bergman cyclization of enediynes, Myers cyclization of enyne-allenes and Moore cyclization of enyne-ketenes are types of cascade radical cyclizations. This review focuses on the cascade sequences and synthetic methods involved in these reactions.

The structure of active centers and the ethylene polymerization mechanism on the Cr/SiO2 catalyst: A frontier for the characterization methods

Article Abstract:

The three different industrial modes of operation for the Phillips polymerization process-the solution process, the slurry process, and the gas phase process are discussed to understand the site structures and strategies and techniques that can be adopted to study the catalyst under working conditions. The increasing use of sensitive and sophisticated surface characterization methods allows to approach the final target and the study has general validity.

Enyne metathesis (enyne bond reorganization)

Article Abstract:

The evolution of enyne metathesis as a useful synthetic reaction and its early applications on ring synthesis through ring-closing applications is discussed. The unusual role of ethylene in both intramolecular and intermolecular metatheses has proven beneficial to catalyst lifetime and has also led to E-selectivity by introducing thermodynamic control to certain enyne metatheses.
