Article Abstract:

This review discusses the application of coherent nonlinear spectroscopic techniques for studying isolated chemical reactions and their control using lasers. Data on bound-free concerted elimination and free-bound bimolecular reactions in gas phase as well as bound-bound molecular transitions are analyzed in relation to dynamics of isolated molecules.

Focus of this review is a thorough discussion on the available approaches to understand the pathways involved in protein and peptide folding and unfolding dynamics.
