Oxidation of alcohols with molecular oxygen on solid catalysts
Article Abstract:
The heterogeneous catalytic methods available for the selective oxidation of alcoholic OH groups to carbonyl or carboxyl functional groups, using molecular oxygen as an oxidant is explored. The result reveals that some catalysts possess surprisingly low activity, and for most reaction types they do not offer a real alternative to the conventional supported Pt-group metals materials.

Hydrogen production from carbon feedstocks: Fossil fuels and biomass
Article Abstract:
Various natural sources, including natural gas, fossil fuels, biomass and other carbon feedstocks are being used for the production of hydrogen, a versatile energy carrier. These sources will give more hydrogen, which can be used to solve the long-term energy related environmental problems.
