Preparation and spectroscopic investigations of mixed octahedral complexes and clusters

Article Abstract:

The fundamental concepts regarding the preparation, characterization, and the basic theory of mixed octahedral complexes and clusters demonstrate some of the main features of coordination chemistry. There is a close interrelation between the geometric structure, molecular symmetry, and spectroscopic properties of mixed octahedral complexes. The applications of these series of compounds, such as the use of trans effect in the stereospecific ligand exchange reactions and the use of ion exchange chromatography in the separation of pure mixed-ligand complexes are given.

Self-assembling supramolecular complexes

Article Abstract:

The molecular architecture of the stable self-assembly systems include non-covalent interactions binding the subunits, the end product in equilibrium with the component parts and the solvent participating in structural stability of the end part. The structural characterization of the complexes are achieved through analysis of relative and absolute stoichiometry. For linear and cyclic aggregates, the enthalpy and entropy of the complex production are the determining factors. Self-assembly form two-dimensional, cylindrical, dendrimeric and helical arrays.

Synthesis, structure, and reactions of hydride, borohydride, and aluminohydride compounds of the f-elements

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on molecular f-element hydride structures, syntheses and reactions as well as on lanthanum, yttrium and scandium hydride complexes. Since the isolation of the first organo-f-element hydrides in the 1970s, hydride, aluminohydride and borohydride compound chemistry has made significant progress. Further studies are advised to identify hydride properties and its impact on metal-hydrogen bonds.
