Surface science studies of the photoactivation of TiO2--New photochemical processes

Article Abstract:

The role of both surface and bulk detects and bulk impurities in influencing the photosensitivity of TiO2, the recombination of charge carriers in TiO2 and the transfer of charge from photoexcited TiO2 to molecules bound to the TiO2 surface is studied. In most cases the photochemical behavior of TiO2 is connected to what is discovered by physical measurement of the photoexcitation of TiO2, which leads to the understanding of photoexcitation of TiO2 connecting the principles of semiconductor physics.

Natural and synthetic fluoride carbonates

Article Abstract:

A review is presented on the fluoride carbonates where carbonates at variance from borates, silicates or phosphates cannot polymerize because of the low carbon-oxygen bond valence. The synthesis conditions in supercritical or subcritical water solutions are found, numerous synthetic compounds are detailed and numerous new structural types are accurately determined.

Titanium dioxide nanomaterials: Synthesis, properties, modifications, and applications

Article Abstract:

The extensive study of different methods of synthesis of Titanium dioxide nanoparticles has led to the synthesis of other nanomaterials such as nanorods, nanotubes and nanowires of Titanium dioxide. The properties and novel applications of these nanomaterials like electrochromics, sensing and their ecofriendly role in synthesis of renewable energy are presented.
