Synthesis and reactions of allylic, allenic, vinylic, and arylmetal reagents from halides and esters via transient organopalladium intermediates

Article Abstract:

Compounds other than the conventional organometallic reagents such as allylic, vinylic, and arylmetal compounds have recently been introduced to carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions. Research demonstrates that highly beneficial organometallic compounds can be obtained from the transmetalated organopalladium intermediates.

Metal-catalyzed hydrostannations

Article Abstract:

The vinyl stannane intermediates are obtained from the transition-metal-catalyzed hydrostannation of alkynes by the addition of tin hydride stereospecifically. Additionally, allyl- and vinylstannanes can be prepared from hydrostannation of allenes using homogeneous or Pearlman catalysts.

Chiral allylic and allenc stannanes as reagents for asymmetric synthesis

Article Abstract:

A frequently used approach in the synthesis of organic compounds results in the formation of adjacent stereocenters. This approach entails the use of allymetal reagents in place of enolates to exert control over the absolute stereochemistry of the desired products. In this review, chiral organotin compounds such as stannanes were added to chiral and achiral aldehydes to produce the intermediates for polypropionate and carbohydrate synthesis. The types of reagents and pathways involved in those reactions are discussed.
