Synthesis and structural characterization of (2'-hydroxyacetophenoneazine)mono(diphenylboron) chelate

Article Abstract:

Synthesis of (2'-hydroxyacetophenoneazine)mono(diphenylboron) chelate has been investigated and its structure characterized along with that of 2'-hydroxyacetophenone azines. A six-membered-chelate structre was found. Boron chelates from salicylaldehyde and 2'-hydroxyacetophenone azines are colored compounds and may have application in analytical chemistry. They had not been studied by use of X-ray chrystallography, and two structures are possible, one with a six- and one with a seven-membered chelate ring. Stuctural differences from salicylaldehyde azomethine boron chelates have been identified.

Coordination complexes derived from 3,6-di(2-pyridyl)-1,4-dihydro-1,2,4,5-tetrazine (DPDHT): synthesis and molecular structure of ((DPT)(GaMe2)2)

Article Abstract:

Coordination complexes from 3,6-di(2-pyridyl)-1,4-dihydro-1,2,4,5-tetrazine (DPDHT) have been studied. Synthesis and molecular structure of ((DPT)(GaMe2)2), a purple crystalline product achieved through elimination of methane, were studied. The molecule, if the four methyl groups are excluded, is roughly planar with structure unlike the DPDHT molecule, which is folded.
