Ultrafast vibrational dynamics of hydrogen bonds in the condensed phase

Article Abstract:

The dynamics of coherent and incoherent vibrational excitations of hydrogen bonds in the condensed phase or the electronic ground state is studied. The conclusions indicate that vibrational dephasing and spectral diffusion are displayed by O-H and O-D stretching excitations in weak hydrogen bonds and the multilevel character of the vibrational system may influence the O-H stretching excitations.

A comprehensive review of the thermochemistry and its structural implications obtained from ab initio calculations and relevant recent results from spectroscopy are discussed.
