Big screen, big power, bargain price

Article Abstract:

The Jaguar notebook computer from PC Notebook boasts a 233MHz Pentium processor with MMX, 512K of L2 cache and 32MB of RAM. The system also has a 2.1GB hard disk drive, 20X CD-ROM and a 14.2" active matrix display. With a price tag of $3,699, the Jaguar is sold through the reseller PC Notebook and manufactured by Taiwan's Chicony Corp. Although the system is somewhat bulky with dimensions of 12.44"x10.19"x 2.18", and weight of eight pounds, the unit is very reasonably priced considering its capabilities. The Jaguar has three device bays, two for batteries, and one for the CD-ROM drive or floppy drive. In addition, the floppy drive can attach to the parallel port, allowing users access to all three items if needed. The unit also features a touchpad and two mouse-click buttons. Corel WordPerfect suite loaded easily during tests using Windows 95 as the operating system. With fast response, the notebook scored an impressive 61 on Norton's System Information scale.
