Canon applies image-processing skills to diverse equipment

Canon Inc. offers the PowerShot series of digital still cameras. The PowerShot Pro 70 digital still camera (Y150,000) showcases an automatic focusing system that works precisely and quickly. Incorporating a 1/2-in CCD with 1.68 million pixels, the PowerShot Pro 70's zoom lens performs 2.5x magnification. The PowerShot Pro 70 also features shutter speeds of up to 1/8,000-sec and standard stroboscopic functions. The PowerShot A5 digital still camera, meanwhile, are designed for XGA-mode images. Easy to use and fully portable, the PowerShot A5 incorporates a dedicated IC and a 1/3-in CCD with 810,000 pixels.
