GSA Teaching Itself Computer Literacy

Article Abstract:

Vito Cheichi, administrator of Region 10, has been instrumental in preparing four ninety-minute audio teleconferences for the eleven regional administrators of the General Services Administration (GSA). The GSA is in charge of purchasing for the United States government. The teleconferences, run by N. Dean Meyer and Associates Inc., are part of an overall plan by the GSA to educate its executives in computer literacy and office automation.

The Government Office: Hawaii Exploring Videotex Services

Article Abstract:

A study on transportation has recommended a videotex system for residents of Honolulu which would help implement a combination carpool and taxi community service. The system would cost $200 million. A conference of computer, transportation, telecommunications, and energy experts was sponsored by the Department of Planning and Economic Development of Hawaii to explore further uses of videotex in education, employment, and recreation.
