LCD features wide angles, works with personal computers

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd.'s LC-View CF-454TMPJ LCD is a 14.5-inch display that can be used as a monitor for personal computers. The LCD has 16.19 million colors with up to 1,024 x 768dpi resolutions. CF-454TMPJ also has a 115-degree vertical viewing angle and a 160-degree horizontal viewing angle. Images of high-resolution are possible with the monitor and small images can be enlarged with a smoothing process. The display, which has can be linked with mostly personal computers, has a dimension of 160mm x 380mm x 384mm and a retail price of $1,688.

NEC Corp.'s NL128102AC28-01A 18.1-in thin-film transistor (TFT) color LCD provides precise images that can be viewed even at wide angles. The LCD incorporates NEC's analog signal processing technique, thus providing a resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels in full-color display. The LCD also features a CRT-compatible analog-interface board that automatically differentiates various input signals and creates dispaly control signals matching the resolution of the display image. NEC is targeting workstations and high-performance personal computers with the LCD.
