LCD makers harvest oppotunities in mobile equipment as PDA market blossoms

Article Abstract:

Liquid crystal display manufacturers respond to increasing demand for small personal digital assistants (PDAs) by offering PDA-specific liquid crystal display modules. Liquid crystal displays are projected by the electronics business to have emerging uses concentrated on the consumer-product, monitors and mobile-equipment markets. The benefits offered by new liquid crystal technologies are expected to be fully utilized especially in the mobile telephony sector.

Image quality of HItachi's super TFT LCD suits digital media

Article Abstract:

Hitachi Ltd has created a new liquid crystal display (LCD) with improved image quality. The 18.1-in Super TFT LCD is equipped with the proprietary Super In-Plane Switching (IPS) which ensures minimal changes in color appearance at various viewing angles. Thus the new monitor provides enhanced color purity and contrast and a swift response speed for the display of moving images.
