Minolta: power of 8ppm laser printers pushes productivity to new levels

Article Abstract:

Minolta offers the PagePro 8 series of laser printers. PagePro 8L incorporates Adobe PrintGear technology, which allows users to return fast to the application program they were working on before printing started. Adobe PrintGear also hastens image processing and helps decrease network traffic by using hardware-assisted and object-oriented on-the-fly rendering. PagePro 8 specializes on graphics-intensive software programs with the use of the PCL6 page description language. PCL6 emulations feature object-oriented PCL-XL printer language for significant improvements in throughput and a fast return to the previous software program. PagePro 8e is fast, reliable, easy to use and accommodates standalone office use. Using the PCL6 emulation, PagePro 8e also ensures a quick return to the user's previous software program.

With fewer components, printer costs less

Article Abstract:

Hitachi Ltd.'s Beam Star NP PostScript A4 color laser printer features the company's proprietary development system, which reduces production costs as lesser components are used. With a single-path paper feed and release system, the laser printer gives a low operating cost of 9 cents for a color print in A4 and 2 cents for an A4 monochrome print. Compared to Hitachi's previous model, the printer also needs 20% less installation space due to its compact design and an image can be produced in 4ppm for color print and 16ppm for a monochrome print.
