Article Abstract:

The Web is an ideal medium for matching employers with employees. Employers' biggest task may be simply finding sites that their best prospects are most likely to visit. In the San Francisco new media community, that is often craigs-list at www.cnewmark.com. Another option is to hire an online employment service such as Heuristics Search (www.heuristicsearch.com). Client companies can view profiles of job-seekers based on Heuristics Search interviews. E-span (www.espan.com) charges employers a flat $4,875 annually for all its services, which include searchable resume and job databases. Indeed, low cost is one of the primary benefits of Web recruiting. In comparison, even a small help-wanted ad can cost thousands of dollars per week in a major metro paper.

When enough is enough; balancing graphics and content

Article Abstract:

When designing a Web site, users should keep some basic rules in mind. These tips will help users to showcase their information, without it being upstaged by cutting edge technologies. The first thing to keep in mind is the type of indivduals that will be visiting the Web site. The second principle to consider is the type of Internet access software visitors will be using and ensure that some visitors are not limited in what graphics they can utilise on a site. Web site developers should also realize that visitors may not have the latest technology, which may prevent them from experiencing style sheets or sometype of new technology. Designers should strive to ensure that the graphics on their sites are pleasing on all platforms.
