Supporting Centers Get GSA Nod

Article Abstract:

Currently, the General Services Administration (GSA) is encouraging federal agencies to set up support centers. GSA has published a report citing the primary benefits of support centers. These include providing a central location offering microcomputer expertise to users, an environment conductive to end-users, continual hotline support, and running of small computing tasks on the center's microcomputers. In addition, prototype configurations can be created with support center assistance. Also, software education is available on GSA's tutorial packages. The GSA center assists managers in defining requirements, and in identifying and purchasing appropriate equipment.
