Leader in plasma displays nurtures ambitious plans for projectors

Fujitsu General Ltd of Japan, a relative new entrant to the competitive data projector market, intends to corner a minimum of 10% of the world's demand for the product. The company, an acknowledged leader in the field of plasma displays, intends to capitalize on its technical knowhow and worldwide marketing network to attain its goals. Fujitsu offers two data projector models, the LPF-4200 and LPF-5200, a device capable of delivering 1,000 ANSI lumens.

Canon cultivates 'digital office' themes in software, hardware

Canon Inc aims to sustain its competitive edge in the digital copier market with software and hardware upgrades in 1999. The company's digital strategy has so far been successful as Canon's digital products accounted for 60% of Japan's digital equipment in 1998. For the rest of the world, especially in the US and Europe, the company intends to release its digital line-up by the first quarter of 1999.
