Article Abstract:

The design of Norway's new international airport outside Oslo, had to be change 16 months into design development, after the government persuaded the aviation authority that homegrown timber should be used for the roof, and not tubular steel. Aviaplan's original design, incorporating the tubular steel undulating roof had won an international competition for the terminal. The recently constructed roof is one of the largest ever built.

Article Abstract:

The canopy at Ashford international railway station was created from aluminium panels which were press-formed with a double curvature. The curved panels run around the station and above the six platforms. Installation was undertaken user a laser system to ensure precision in setting out.
