The lenders commit a mistake by not educating their customers in financial matters and consequently lose out on the customer loyalty. Reference to the changes in the lending policy for factory-built houses in 1995 which drove people to buy houses they could ill afford and which were ultimately repossessed by the lending institution is made. The social and psychological loss to the bank is enormous and gains are only temporary.
