Global Mail acquires QuickMAIL

Article Abstract:

QuickMAIL, a division of New Yor, NY-based Quick International Courier, was acquired by Sterling, VA-based Global Mail Ltd in Apr 2000. The acquisition of QuickMAIL, which posted revenues of $24 million in FY 1999 and has production sites in New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, and Canada, gives Global Mail a larger national presence. Global Mail is a subsidiary of Bonn, Germany-based Deustche Post AG and specializes in the international distribution of newsletters, catalogs, publications and direct mail pieces from the US.

PRC oks priority mail flat-rate box test

The United States, Postal Service received approval for the introduction of two flat-rate priority mailboxes from the Postal Rate Commission (PRC). These mailboxes have fixed prices regardless of the package weight and destination.

German Post buying spree nabs YellowStone

Article Abstract:

Deutche Post AG has announced its acquisition of publication distribution company YellowStone International of Elk Grove, IL, for an undisclosed amount. YellowStone, which posted total sales of $21 million in 1998, handles international distribution for large publishing companies such as Miller Freeman, Crain Communications and Penton Media. The acquisition is part of Deutche Post's global acquisition binge in which it invested $5 billion in the last six months.
