Grove Park Inn project completed for $3.75 million

Article Abstract:

Asheville, NC-based Grove Park Inn Resort's historic Main Inn roof has been rebuilt at a cost of $3.75 million. The reconstruction of the original, 86-year-old, poured concrete-under-red-clay tile roof required 400,000 red-hued tiles weighing 1 million lbs. Each tile had to be individually cut and placed by hand. The result is a new multi-layered structure that is expected to last for at least another 100 years and whose appearance is nearly identical to the previous roof.
