House bill has fixes for CSRS: Collins, Carper introduce postal reform draft in Senate

Article Abstract:

A postal reform bill, that contains victories for mailers and the U.S. Postal Service regarding Civil Service retirement funding was sent by The House Government Reform Committee to the Congress. The bill is said to have endorsed the basic features of universal services like affordable rates, frequent delivery and convenient community access to retail postal services.

Postal reform passage grows more unlikely

The probability of postal reform bill getting passed in present year are thin as the schedule for the coming legislative season is crowded. The issues covered in the bill and the outcome in case the bill does not pass are analyzed.
