Shopping club sets sights on 1 million

HouseHoldDirect.com, an online membership club offering discounts on several products and services, is preparing for the implementation of its telemarketing effort that is part of a $4 million advertising campaign geared towards increasing traffic in its website. The New York, NY-based company is also planning to launch a direct mail campaign and an online banner advertising campaign in an effort to enlist one million members by the end of 2000.

HealthAxis forges alliance with NCA

HealtAxis.com, a Norristown, PA-based Internet marketer of health insurance, is set to launch a print and radio campaign in an effort to boost traffic at its Web site (www.healthaxis.com). The ads will be shown in Los Angeles, CA, Tampa, FL, and St. Petersburg, FL. The campaign will be first tested in California and Florida because the company enjoys a better competitive position in those states.

Internet companies slow to open their package insert programs

Article Abstract:

Few Internet-based companies are allowing outside advertisers to access their customers through in-house package insert programs. Leon Henry Inc Senior VP Linda Callahan believes this is because some of the online firms may be trying to protect their customer files for themselves. However, she is optimistic that World Wide Web merchants would eventually join traditional direct marketers and recognize the potential rewards they can reap by delivering ads along with their own products.
