The international construction market is considered to have grown by 5.8% in the last two years and globalisation of the industry is affecting inflation significantly. Statistics concerning the state of the industry at the beginning of 2001 are presented.

Issues are presented concerning the lead times of 38 works packages in the year to November 2000. The lead times for panellised stone cladding are also discussed. Statistics for orders, enquiries and tender prices are included.

Lead times

An analysis of the lead times for thirty-eight works packages in the construction industry is presented. The increase in lead times between November 2000 and March 2001 is discussed.
