Los Angeles, CA-based Mycashmere.com dropped 2,000 direct mail pieces to generate mail and phone orders and to promote the site. The eight-page brochures were sent in the last week of Dec 2000, to people who requested information at the Web site or thorugh an ad tthe firm ran in E-Elle.com. Mycashmere limited the campaign cost by not including postage-paid order forms. It is keepng an eye on promotions budget due to the problems experienced in the online retail industry.
