Net ad campaign promotes Web movies

Article Abstract:

Stein Rogan & Partners of New York intends to target old children and teen-agers for a new type of entertainment product available on the Web that has been developed by Brilliant Digital Entertainment. The product is the Web-base Multipath Movie series, which allows viewers to make decisions on which way the plot will turn as the movie progress using their computers. Stein Rogan will contact 150,000 new members of six neighborhoods within the Geocities Internet community to promote the new site. The agency will use e-mail addressed to the 1,300 people designated by Geocities as community leaders, or those who are influential in the chat discussions within the community.

Fry Multimedia will build Web site for Crate & Barrel

Article Abstract:

Fry Multimedia of Ann Arbor, MI, will develop the first Web site of retailer Crate and Barrel and expects to site to be launched in spring of 1999. The agency will use photographs from the catalog to create a light and airy ambiance, a look consistent with Crate and Barrel's other sales channels. The Web site will feature an online store and gift registry and will offer gift certificates, credit-card applications, a store locator and catalog request form. A company spokesman states that content sponsorships on sites focusing on the home and some non-Internet-related advertising will likely be used as marketing tools.

Sapient boosts health membership and increases traffic to its Web site

Article Abstract:

Sapient Health Network, a Portland, OR-based consumer health network, is working to boost its membership and encourage more frequent visits to its Web site, www.shn.net. Its latest effort is a partnership with the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Nursing. Similar to an arrangement Sapient already has with the University of California-San Francisco School of Nursing, the alliance will give network members access to expertise of Oregon's School of Nursing faculty members. Separately, Sapient is also evaluating other diseases in which there is enough interest to create more online communities.
