'Risk-free' MOD project draws bidders

Article Abstract:

The ministry of defence is widely regarded as offering very attractive terms for the 175 million pounds sterling private finance initiative refurbishment of its headquarters building in London, England. This project has attracted strong interest from a number of the UK's most well known developers, including British Land. The only risk to the selected developer will arise if there are problems with the building. The winner will fund and undertake the refurbishment, and the ministry of defence will then pay an 'accommodation' charge.
