Saleoutlet's circulars target members

Article Abstract:

Saleoutlet.com, a World Wide Web-based outlet store, has used electronic mail circulars to inform its customers of sales as part of the redesign of the firm's Web site. For each sale made by a vendor on Saleoutlet's Web site, the firm gets a 10% commission. On the part of the vendors, Saleoutlet gives them the opportunity to rent its house list consisting of 75,000 names. Visitors to the Web site can choose from 100 vendors and search for a specific item, with the matching category and price, under one database.
