Separating industry truths from the misconceptions

Article Abstract:

US citizens who are seeking low-cost housing alternatives may now consider a number of options, including production site builders, panelizers and modular builders. Contrary to popular beliefs, these housing projects are preferable than conventional HUD-code houses, which have been reported recently to be less durable. On the other hand, growth in the manufactured housing sector is undermined by problems relating to funding constraints and discrimination at the local level.

Worksheet helps define community value

Article Abstract:

The Valuation Calculation Worksheet (VCW) was devised as a basis for assessing the estimated worth of a prefabricated home land-leased community. It serves as a guide before expert valuations by real property appraisers and has several restrictions. Its assessments favor the land owner while some items depend on personal definitions. It is only applicable to an 85% or more economic occupancy.
