Software maker sells its DM services to other firms

Article Abstract:

Software Publishing Corp. Holdings, a software marker which sells its products through direct mail and call centers, is now selling its direct marketing (DM) services to other software makers. By offering its DM services to other software developers on a revenue-sharing basis, developers who lack the resources to distribute their products could find a market for their software products. A typical arrangement would have Software Publishing using direct mail to market another developer's product. The mailing then asks the recipient to register his or her software by calling Software Publishing's call center.
