International costings

Article Abstract:

A UK tender price inflation rate of 5.4% is predicted during 1999, falling from 5.6% during 1998. The rate is one of the highest in Europe. The economic slowdown of the German construction industry has led to a low tender price inflation rate of 1.0%, predicted to rise to 1.2% during 1999. The collapse of the Asian economy during 1998 has led to a high inflationary rate which is reflected by the reduced number of projects and lower prices.
