Telemarketing effort leads BTB vendor to sales leap

Article Abstract:

Airgas Inc, a business-to-business distributor of industrial products, uses telemarketing extensively in its safety-product division. Four outbound telemarketing call centers are driving $100 million in annual sales of safety equipment in 2000, compared with $66 million for the same period in 1999. The company uses 90 telemarketers based in call centeres in Atlanta, GA, Los angeles, CA, Milwaukee, WI, and Philadelphia, PA, to maintain an active customer base of 25,000 businesses.

Telemarketing company looks to future with BTB unit

Article Abstract:

Des Moines telemarketing firm Marketlink has established a business-to- business division called Businesslink with 16 full-time telemarketing agents. Marketlink decided to put up Businesslink after the success of a telemarketing program that it implemented for a small local software developer. Marketlink intends to double Businesslink's workforce by the end of 2001, and again by the end of 2002. The company will also open its fourth call center in Fairmont, MN.
