Town and Country Homes (Chicago, IL), homebuilder and winner of the National Housing Quality Award, puts quality first. The company regards quality as its mission, which is included in every corporate task. The implementation of quality processes has helped revenue rise to $151 million in 1992, vs $90 million in 1991 and $100 million in 1990. The company's Quality Improvement Team has worked out a quality charter with goals to improve quality based on customer satisfaction. Detailed quality processes in place at Towm and Country Homes are also discussed.

Craftsman-style house features river rock, wrought iron, L-shaped porch

Article Abstract:

Upland Builders has won the Detached (conventional lot) Home of the Year Gold Nugget Award for its $315,000 house in Seattle, WA. The house was designed by Northwest Home Designing (Tacoma, WA). The Craftsman-style house covers 2,829 sq ft and features a large porch, and a breezeway inbetween parts of the three-car garage. The house has also won the Best of Show Award of the Seattle Master Builder Association.
